A few people have asked me about recalls on items I sell. I checked the US Consumer Product Safety Commission recall news and it looks good for me. That's great because the gnarly teeth are really popular.
Tomorrow in Anatomy and Physiology is our lecture exam on digestion, nutrition, and metabolism. I'm freaking out because despite how much he keeps telling us it's not chemistry, this looks like chemistry to me! And besides learning the gross anatomy, the majority of the information looks like this. Only 3 more weeks in this semester and it just keeps getting more intense.
This week I'm finishing up a bunch of sock monkeys and putting price tags on everything in preparation for the Artisan Fair on Saturday. School's almost over for the semester. The schedule for next semester looks good. They're offering everything I need to finish up so I should be done with school in April! Back to pricing for now...
I slept like crap last night and woke up with a terrible headache. I made sock monkeys while I half watched and mostly listened to a Law and Order marathon, my sister would be proud. She would have been watching too, no doubt, except that she was at the first day of the Muslim American Society Convention in Houston promoting her nonprofit bookstore/educational center, Light of Islam. I thought about her a lot today, wishing I was there to support her. I somehow managed to make apple pie and pumpkin pie for dessert. Dinner at my folks was the usual non-traditional fare, this year we had salmon, it was great. On the way home from their house I saw a remarkable number of homes already decked out for Christmas, as if they decorated today. My dad emailed our family's famous pumpkin bread recipe. This is scanned from the recipe card which came from the kitchen of the Kellogg's Pan-Tree Inn, as you can clearly see.
I'll be participating in the Artisan Gift Market at the Glen Ridge Congregational Church on December 1st. I'll be selling sock monkeys, Christmas stockings, voodoo dolls, gLove Story Dolls and the purses. I'll also be promoting the re-opening of the store. It should be a great day, I'm looking forward to it.
I thought the Swap-a-roos looked fun but I had no idea how much fun until I watched Abby play with them yesterday. She swapped heads around, voted on her favorites, lined them up in size order, it just went on and on and on. If you need something to keep a kid busy for a while, for example, Thanksgiving dinner at the kids' table, I highly recommend these!
Yesterday we got in a small order I placed of brand new, must-have items from Accoutrements. These are over the top in terms of the weirdness factor and I love it! For your consideration: the paparazzi playset, bizarro glasses, uber macho chest rug, flying monkey catapult gun, instant villain disguise, and oh yeah, the yodelling pickle. I used to say it's not the holidays without a glow-in-the-dark jellyfish, but they discontinued it. So now...it's not the holidays without a yodelling pickle.
The magical fantasy world of unicorns comes to life with these enchantedmajesticimaginative weird playsets. Pretend you're in fairyland and pick a side because with all these sets to choose from the fantastical fun will never end!
