Back In Stock Again For The First Time

Lots of favorites and a couple new items came in today! The Giant Handlebar Mustache and the Bacon Vs. Tofu Bendy Figures are new from Accoutrements. Also from Accoutrements are the Bizarro Glasses I love and Shakespeare Action Figure. From Blue Q I got an assortment of breath sprays, stickers, and tattoos, including Tattoos for Babies.

Just In- Plunko and Babo's Bird

The 2 newest Uglydolls just came in this morning- Plunko and Babo's Bird in the regular size and little size!

New Accoutrements Tomorrow!

Tomorrow a big Accoutrements order is due to come in. It includes a lot of old favorites that I'm out of, but also a lot of new items! I can't wait to see the Office Monkey Set, Rainbow Monkey Bandages, Seth Godin Marketing Guru Action Figure, and the Toast Wallet! That's just the tip of the iceberg! Behold!

Mad Libs are turning 50 and yesterday I got in a nice order to celebrate!

Fun and Games

Today we got 2 new items from Fred: Frozen Smiles, a denture shaped ice cube tray, and the 2-Carat Cup, a fanciful mug that adorns your finger when you pick it up and comes packaged like an unforgettable gift.
We also got back the NYC Urban Compass as well as the 3D Dog and 3D Cat cards from Kikkerland. Everything is available in the shop and the eBay store.

Juggling Equipment!

Yesterday I placed an order for juggling equipment with Higgins Brothers. I ordered clubs, rings, plates, diablos, balls, and sticks. I tried out their clubs at the NY Gift Fair and really liked them. I'm so excited to be carrying this line! I'm also excited to replace my old, falling-apart clubs!

Fabulous Fred

More back orders of new Fred merchandise arrived today. Zing is a catapult spoon that will surely get you uninvited to the next family gathering.Freakeys are key covers that resemble the finger puppet monsters we carry. Equal Measure is the coolest measuring cup ever! Besides giving regular forms of measurement, it offers measurements in ways you never would have imagined. Poe is an Ugly Dragon. Ugly Dragons come from the Ugly Dragon Mountain. But Poe has left the safety of his caverns is search of his big dreams. The other day he had a big dream about a big scoop of Ice Cream. Chocolate. While most Ugly Dragons sleep all day and fly all night, Poe is more into cars, trucks, bikes, and anything that lets him sit down while moving. Flying is hard. You have to flap your wings around all the time! Can Poe roll with you?

More Fred Backorders

Today we got in 2 backordered items from Fred. The Ice Princess ice tray has reusable straws to make ice wands and the Please Hold handset plugs into your cell phone.

Retro Candy Is Back!

We got our retro candy order in and the store smells like Violets which is good if you like Violets. I cut the box tops and put them in the window. I think this old fashioned candy is great for Easter baskets. We also got another retro relic yesterday, the Magic 8 Ball.

New Fred

This week we got a couple brand new items from Fred. The newest items are slowly coming in as they are available. The Bonechillers make skull and crossbone shaped ice cubes to keep your grog cool. And the Batter Finger is a lick-friendly spatula for when you get the urge to finish off the batter or frosting!

Looking Ugly

Today I got the Uglydolls order and they look great! Now we have 2 each of the Little Uglies that are going to retire this year, the new Suntan Target and Cinko in his new color, as well as a few of the old favorites.

Democratic Dream Mug

Today I got the small Unemployed Philosopher's Guild order I placed at Gift Fair. It included the Democratic Dream Mug which I couldn't resist. When the mug is filled with a hot liquid the map of the United States turns all blue.

Items of the Day

Today we got the wee little chairs I mentioned the other day. We also got a new order from Fred. Some of it was stuff we've had before like the Black Bar Glasses, Cool Shooters, and the Already Been Chewed Cookie Cutters, but some items we've never had before. We got new key covers, Glow-in-the-dark Skeleton Keys and Keyshirts. The Wooferang fetching toy is the first of many more dog toys I'd like to bring in. And of course I couldn't resist the Bananahandle pan handle holder for obvious reasons.

Corporate Comic Relief

Yesterday I got in the first shipment from what I ordered at the NY Gift Fair. We got in the new version of the 9-5 rubber stamps that we used to sell. They changed the sayings and added 2 more to the collection which is great. The other great items are the corporate work trophies. These are really funny and I can definitely see people having the nerve to give them to co-workers! I like the Control Freak of the Year Award which says "In recognition of the inability to delegate or give responsibility to anybody else."

New Uglydolls for 2008

These are the first 2 new Uglydolls of 2008 to be shipping out- Cinko, and Suntan Target. Target's new story starts: "Suntan Target? That's right! Leave him out in the sun for a few months and watch his nice tan fade away! Target has been away on vacation for a while but he just had to come back to show you his nice tan. You would do the same, right?"  Cinko is now in a different color and his story starts: "Cinko is afraid of water. What if he gets thirsty? Aren't our bodies mostly water? What if he takes his family to the drive-thru window and everyone orders water? Can Ice-bat melt? Are tears water? Cinko needs help. Cinko needs you."

Mixing It Up

Politics and Poop

Today I got a new order from Blue Q, a great Made in the USA company. I got new breath sprays and lip balms but my favorite items in the order were the political air fresheners and the new small books. The Evil Banana pictures banana peels in different accident scenarios as if they were the cause of the mayhem. But they're so delicious, could it really be their fault? The Sprinkle Brigade search the streets of NYC for piles of poop and place props around, in, and on it. Don't look at this book when you're eating, but it's hysterical.

Kids Valentines

The boxed kids valentines came in yesterday from Peaceable Kingdom. The sock monkey sets are perfect for us!

Giant Microbes and Valentines

This week I ordered 2 lines that I'm sure will be popular. Kid's boxed valentines from Peaceable Kingdom, including a great Scratch and Sniff Super Fun Pack that includes 24 scratch & sniff cards (Chocolate, Peppermint, Strawberry, and Vanilla), 1 for teacher, 25 envelopes, and stickers to decorate the envelopes. I'm also bringing in a new line called Giant Microbes that are hysterical and make great gifts. They are stuffed animals that look like microbes- only magnified a million times! Each plush doll has a hang tag with microscopic images of the microbe it represents and information about it. Pictured are pneumonia, ulcer, and e. coli. Everything should be in by the end of next week!

School Books

Yesterday I got a couple of backordered items from Chronicle Books.  Law School in a Box is a funny gift for would-be lawyers and the School Years Keepsake Album is a cute way to record milestones and accomplishments from kindergarten through high school.

More Fun Than I Thought

I thought the Swap-a-roos looked fun but I had no idea how much fun until I watched Abby play with them yesterday. She swapped heads around, voted on her favorites, lined them up in size order, it just went on and on and on. If you need something to keep a kid busy for a while, for example, Thanksgiving dinner at the kids' table, I highly recommend these!

Latest and Greatest

Yesterday we got in a small order I placed of brand new, must-have items from Accoutrements. These are over the top in terms of the weirdness factor and I love it! For your consideration: the paparazzi playset, bizarro glasses, uber macho chest rug, flying monkey catapult gun, instant villain disguise, and oh yeah, the yodelling pickle. I used to say it's not the holidays without a glow-in-the-dark jellyfish, but they discontinued it. So now...it's not the holidays without a yodelling pickle.

Pop Culture Novelties

Here are some more great items that just came in from Accoutrements and were also added to the eBay store. Deluxe disguise kit, Lincoln pencil toppers, gnarly noses, and smoking monkey are items you cannot find anywhere else in Montclair! This morning I ordered postcards to publicize the new location and to use as business cards. They should be here in a week which is great because I desperately need them.

The Accoutrements Store

I should just change the name of the store to The Accoutrements Store. I got a huge order in this week for the holidays and it succeeded in filling up any available space on the walls and shelves. We now have a lot more monkey items too, including these lucky monkey bandages.

Handwarmers

Just in time for the colder weather, these Little Miss and Mister handwarmers are great for outdoor fun. They're reusable and based on the cute characters from the great book series that is so popular. I have the books on order and they should be in this week.

Black Bars

These black bars sunglasses were so silly I just had to carry them in the shop. I didn't actually think they'd be as popular as they have been. Here's what the copy on the box says: "Black Bars offer no promise of anonymity and may draw unwanted attention. It is possible this product will make you appear ridiculous. Do not operate heavy machinery while wearing Black Bars at night. Pants may be required (check local city ordinances). Keep Black Bars away from children and humorless adults."

The Little Details

We're closed today due to a total power shutdown in the building so the rewiring can be finished. In the meantime, I'm enjoying my first day off since we re-opened. Just thought I'd take a minute to mention 2 backordered items we received last week from Accoutrements. The gummy haggis and the tattoo bandages are 2 small items that pack a big wallop. It doesn't get much weirder than butterscotch flavored gummy haggis, and the tattoo bandages are great to add to your growing decorated bandage collection.

Kitchen-Vision

If you're thinking your kitchen needs some excitement, I recommend these 3 items to solve that problem. First, the Cool Shooters are a shot glass-shaped ice cube tray that makes little ice cups. These have been really popular. Next, Holy Toast is a bread stamper that will definitely make your morning toast more fun. And the third item I recommend is just in time for cookie baking season. The ABC (already been chewed) cookie cutters are hysterical and will challenge your decorating abilities while providing twisted fun at your next cookie exchange. Look for them all on the eBay store if you can't make it in to the shop!

Hypotrochoid Art Set

You say spirograph, we say hypotrochoid, we also say fun! Abby and I can't stop playing with the new hypotrochoid art set we got in last week. All the gears, pens and circles store neatly into the tin box.

Victorian Paper Masks

Yesterday I got in an order that I had forgotten I placed at the NY Gift Fair. It was the great victorian paper masks that I love so much. The icons of the 20th century collection is always the most popular.

Walking Decks

This week I got my order from Chronicle Books. This order really rounds out the selection of merchandise we offer. The city walks decks of cards are a deck of 50 cards, each with a different walking tour of that city, with detailed maps and insider information. I ordered more international cities this time, but also got the cities that go with the urban compasses we already had from Kikkerland. I thought they would go great together.

This week I also added the Anne Taintor coffee mugs to the eBay store. They sold really well before and now I have an even bigger selection.

Great Start

This week has been great! Lots of people stopping in to check out our new space. It's starting to shape up too. This week we got in the new Uglydolls we didn't have, including Sailor Babo, so cute! Yesterday we got in a brand new joke rack! This weekend will be the last chance to get discontinued items on sale. Next week all the invitations and paper products will be a thing of the past.

Fun From Fred

Today we got in my order from Fred, which is a great company with really fun stuff. Their best-selling item is the Monkeys and I'm sure they'll do well in the store.

NY Gift Fair August Edition

Yesterday I attended the NY Gift Fair with my buddy Monica. It was a beautiful day and I felt energetic and excited. We were less organized than usual but we managed to get through it and feel like we had a successful day. We laughed our asses off at Anne Taintor's booth, laughed them off all over again ordering MikWright notepads, and once again at Accoutrements where they had my favorite item of the entire show. The Assistant Manager Pennant is at the top of my list of must have items!

Travel Chopstick Set

I got another backorder from Kikkerland today- the travel chopstick set. These are really beautiful brushed stainless steel with natural hardwood tips. They breakdown and store inside the plastic case so you can take them with you anywhere. Of course, they're up on the eBay store now.
